Job summary

Villa Healthcare is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support daily upkeep of interior and exterior areas, ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment for residents and staff. You will perform routine inspections and address maintenance requests while supporting the environmental services team.

The role requires basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC knowledge, with experience in healthcare or industrial settings preferred. Full-time with benefits and growth opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Basic carpentry repairs
• Knowledge of basic electricity and how to perform safe electrical repairs
• Knowledge of basic plumbing and ability to perform plumbing repairs
• Basic HVAC knowledge preferred or ability to learn
• Ability to budget department needs

Responsibilities

• Communicate regularly with the Administrator about facility equipment functioning
• Lead facility inspection tours and meet with inspectors in the absence of senior maintenance leadership
• Perform snow and ice removal as directed
• Fix minor tile, wallpaper, painting, and drywall repairs
• Perform gardening and lawn care duties
• Repair and replace door and window hardware
• Maintain lighting fixtures and electrical components
• Repair furniture or recommend replacement
• Maintain and repair pumps
• Perform all preventative maintenance
• Maintain accurate parts and tool inventories
• Maintain and document as directed
• Maintain and repair fire alarm and nurse call systems
• Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment
• Follow safety principles
• All other duties as assigned
