Job summary

PennEngineering is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join the Maintenance Team at our Danboro, PA site. You will collaborate with teams to perform maintenance, carpentry, electrical and plumbing tasks, and support plant reliability.

The role requires hands-on skills, ability to read blueprints, and independent work with strong problem-solving. Onsite, with comprehensive benefits and training opportunities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proven experience as handyman or carpenter in manufacturing/industrial setting.
  • Strong carpentry skills for repairs and construction tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance.
  • Proficient in use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or drawings.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong problem-solving and proactive task completion.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation touch-ups, equipment setup, and workspace improvements for operation readiness.
  • Complete carpentry tasks: build/repair structures, cabinets, shelving, partitions, drywall, trim.
  • Paint and prep surfaces; patch, prime, and finish walls and equipment.
  • Maintenance and repairs plant-wide: plumbing, minor electrical, general upkeep.
  • Assist with plant appearance and groundskeeping as needed.
  • Maintain proper storage and use of tools/materials; safety compliance.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and complete tasks efficiently.

WHAT YOU WILL DO :
  • Perform knock-out tasks, including final touches on plant installations, equipment setup, and workspace improvements to ensure operational readiness.
  • Complete carpentry projects such as building and repairing structures, cabinets, and shelving; installing partitions, drywall, and trim work as needed.
  • Execute painting and surface preparation tasks, including patching, priming, and finishing of plant walls, floors, and equipment to maintain a clean and professional appearance.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs across the plant, including plumbing, minor electrical fixes, and general upkeep to ensure a safe and functional environment.
  • Assist with maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of the plant, including groundskeeping, minor plumbing tasks, and other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, storage, and use of tools and materials required for all maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Adhere to all plant safety protocols and regulations, ensuring that work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Perform other duties as required .
