Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. seeks a Facilities (MAC) Manager to lead Move, Add, Change activities across Mobile, AL and other sites.

You will plan, coordinate, and execute workplace changes, relocations, space reconfigurations, and furniture/equipment adjustments to minimize disruption and maintain safety and standards. Required is a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years in facilities, occupancy planning, or project coordination.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
  • 5+ years in workplace operations, facilities management, or project coordination.
  • Experience in occupancy planning or program management and delivery of tenant occupancy projects.
  • Analytical and quantitative skills with proven ability to develop strategic solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of space planning and occupancy restacks; CAFM/AutoCAD proficiency; Google Suite preferred.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Airbus Americas, Inc is looking for a Facilities (MAC) Manager to join our team based in Mobile, AL. The Move, Add, Change (MAC) Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all workplace changes, including employee relocations, space reconfigurations, and furniture or equipment adjustments across assigned sites or regions. This role ensures that all MAC activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with organizational standards, minimizing disruption to business operations at the Airbus Mobile US Manufacturing Facility and other offsite facilities.

Your Working Environment

On ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Your Challenges
  • Workplace Solutions Interfaces with Management to develop new opportunities for workplace solutions to manage headcount growth, departmental reorgs, desired workplace changes and new workplace concepts.
  • Administer or guide occupancy data collection studies.
  • Perform complex analysis tasks and comprehensive facility planning, e.g., opportunity analysis, options development, option evaluation, pro/con comparisons and provide recommendations.
  • Maintain space planning and forecasting reports and headcount Acts as the project lead to assist in developing furniture test-fits and workplace usage solutions for multiple departments in a growing multi-building campus environment.
  • Cooperate and coordinate all activities with entire FMRE team.
  • Conduct management level presentations that achieve desired outcomes.
  • Drawing file management on shared drives.
  • Track project budgets, expenditures, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage external vendors supporting moves, furniture installations, and reconfigurations.
  • Conduct site walk-throughs and readiness checks before and after moves.
Occupancy Projects
  • Assists in migration and phase planning of large scale occupancy projects.
  • Maintains oversight on accuracy for all occupancy data in the assigned portfolio.
  • Ensures planning deliverables provided, meet management’s expectations.
  • Administer and guide occupancy data collection studies to inform workplace strategy guidelines.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into actionable space or move plans.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Site Facilities
Space Projects
  • Provide analytical guidance to drive major space projects and restacks, ensuring that solutions meet business needs.
  • Develop options that account for competing priorities and requests.
  • Develop and present multiple space scenarios to meet these objectives.
  • Organizes all data analytics and space solutions into presentation format for client delivery including option comparison, benefits and risks and business impact.
  • Administer and guide occupancy data collection studies to inform workplace strategy guidelines.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into actionable space or move plans.
Your Boarding Pass
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in workplace operations, facilities management, or project coordination.
  • Knowledge of current industry trends, best practices and technology.
  • Experience working in occupancy planning or program management and delivery of tenant occupancy projects.
  • Analytical and quantitative skills with proven ability to develop strategic solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and problem solving ability.
  • Knowledge and understanding of space planning and space occupancy restacks.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Written, presentation and oral communication, interpersonal and consultative skills, as well as effective result-oriented problem solving skills.
  • Required Technical Systems Proficiency Basic CAFM/ AutoCAD skills
  • Preferred Technical Systems Proficiency Experience with Google Suite.
  • Eligibility: Eligible for employment in the US without sponsorship.

  • Carrying: Daily able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Lifting: Daily able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • Pushing / Pulling: Daily able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
  • Sitting: Daily able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
  • Squatting / Kneeling: Daily able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
  • Standing: Daily able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.
  • Travel: Rarely able to travel independently and at short notice.
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): Daily able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
  • Appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop
