Job summary

Kankakee School District 111 is seeking a Head Custodian to manage daily custodial operations across district facilities, ensuring sanitary and safe conditions for students, staff, and visitors.

Under supervision of the Director of Facilities and School Principal, the role leads custodial staff, schedules workflows, coordinates repairs, maintains supplies, and responds to safety concerns to keep schools running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in building management or custodial supervision preferred.
• Valid State Motor Vehicle Operator's license required.

Responsibilities

• Clean facilities such as classrooms, gym, restrooms to maintain sanitary and safe environment.
• Lead and supervise custodial staff and organize schedules and evaluations.
• Maintain inventory and develop requisitions for supplies.
• Report building needs to principals and supervisors.
• Respond to safety concerns and system alarms.
• Plan and oversee preventive maintenance for HVAC equipment.
• Maintain records of time, performance, and overtime.
