Job summary

The Oregon Health Authority in Salem, Oregon seeks a Laborer to support skilled trades and maintenance staff in the Physical Plant during renovations and routine repairs. You will escort contractors and help maintain safety for patients, staff and visitors while ensuring smooth workflow on job sites.

Requires at least 1 year of general labor experience in construction or maintenance and a proactive approach to safety. This is a full-time, in-office role with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 1 year of general labor experience in construction or maintenance environments.
• Experience assisting skilled trades such as carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and maintenance workers with a variety of hands-on tasks.
• Experience performing general labor tasks including loading/unloading materials, transporting tools, digging, mixing concrete, and moving appliances.
• Experience maintaining clean and organized work areas and promoting job site safety.
• Experience performing minor building repairs such as replacing ceiling tiles and installing HVAC air filters.
• Experience transporting materials and equipment using various methods.
• Experience communicating effectively with staff, contractors, and supervisors to support coordination and safe workflow.

Responsibilities

• This position provides support to skilled trades and facilities maintenance workers in the Physical Plant during renovations, remodels and routine repairs.
• Escorts contractors to access secure areas, ensuring safety and security for patients, staff and visitors.
