Job summary

UAB is seeking an Information Systems Manager I to lead the Facilities Technology Services desktop support and user assistance across campus facilities.

You will supervise staff, coordinate with UAB IT, manage device inventory, and ensure secure, reliable technology support for campus and hospital maintenance personnel. This on-site role demands strong leadership and operational budget planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field required.
• Five (5) years of progressive desktop support/IT operations experience required.
• Experience coordinating with central IT, vendors, and operations stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Facilities Technology Services desktop group and support staff.
• Oversee device ordering, inventory, deployment, troubleshooting, and lifecycle planning.
• Provide and oversee help desk support with ticketing and documentation.
• Maintain accurate device inventory and lifecycle documentation for a large user base.
• Coordinate user accounts and access management within Microsoft and other enterprise environments.
• Ensure security, compliance, and asset accountability across devices.
• Supervise staff, set service standards, and promote staff development.
• Prepare reports and metrics on inventory, volumes, and service improvements.
