Job summary

Princeton University is seeking a strategic Analyst to join the Facilities Information Technology team. The role focuses on translating business needs into scalable technical solutions, overseeing applications within the Facilities Technology portfolio, and delivering improvements across departments.

The Technical Analyst collaborates with Facilities, university partners, and external vendors to ensure reliable, secure, and usable systems while driving efficiency and cross‑functional project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years related work experience with 3+ years leading technical oversight of 3rd party applications including server administration of OS, middleware, firewall rules and network connectivity.
• Experience with server operating systems (Windows and Linux) and databases (SQL Server and Oracle).
• Basic proficiency with SQL and PowerShell for automation.
• Experience with application integrations using ODBC, SDK and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Provide server-level administration for production and test environments, including performance monitoring and access control.
• Test OS and SQL patches in coordination with IT partners; remediate vulnerabilities.
• Monitor and troubleshoot server, network, and application issues; verify data integrity.
• Oversee vendor-led enhancements and perform functional and UAT testing.
• Coordinate with Facilities and university systems to ensure accurate data integration.
• Develop training materials and communications for new capabilities.
• Lead cross-functional projects related to onboarding, upgrades, and enhancements.
