Job summary

Wheaton Park District is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Worker to perform routine and preventative maintenance across district facilities, grounds and equipment. The role requires basic plumbing and carpentry skills, a valid driver’s license, and CPR/AED certification within 90 days.

You will assist with custodial tasks, setup for programs and rentals, snow removal, safety procedures, and excellent customer service to staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience in maintenance repairs and construction field.
• Good verbal communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on district lands, facilities, and equipment.
• Assist with custodial tasks and cleaning at district facilities and grounds.
• Coordinate and set up buildings for programs and rentals.
• Receive, store and distribute custodial and recreation supplies.
• Shovel snow and de-ice walkways.
• Report repairs as needed and assist with minor building repairs.
• Maintain safety and PPE protocols.
• Provide high-quality customer service to internal and external customers.
