Job summary

Rochester Academy Charter School in Rochester, NY is seeking a full-time Facilities Maintenance Technician to provide general maintenance, landscaping, snow/ice removal, and custodial support across campus.

The role requires flexibility to address early morning or late-night needs, with benefits including health and dental coverage. Fingerprinting and NYS Education Department clearance are required before employment begins.

Responsibilities

• Providing general and detailed maintenance, including patching, painting, hardware repairs, and other repair/replacement work as required.
• Providing general landscaping maintenance, including grass cutting, bush trimming, and other miscellaneous landscaping needs.
• Perform snow and ice removal on sidewalks, entryways, and roofs. This responsibility requires a flexible schedule, including early mornings or late nights, to ensure the facility is safe before business hours.
• Remove snow and apply salt using the school truck.
• Serve as a backup custodian when regular personnel are absent. This includes performing daily custodian, janitorial, and cleaning work across all buildings as needed. Duties include vacuuming, spot cleaning, and/or shampooing rugs, carpets, and furniture, as well as sweeping, mopping, polishing, and stripping floors in rooms and halls.
• Utilize insecticides to prevent infestation by dangerous pests.
• Report major damages and oversee repairs.
• Execute other maintenance and custodial duties as assigned by the facility manager or school leadership to support campus operation
