Job summary

The YMCA of Coastal Carolina is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Tech to uphold safe, high-quality building and grounds across association facilities. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, manage repair projects, and coordinate with leadership to keep operations running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and hands-on trade experience, plus knowledge of OSHA and safety procedures. The role supports mission-driven service and offers growth within the YMCA.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and 1-2 years training in a skilled trade (mechanical repairs, HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations.
• Ability to work independently, stay organized, and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to drive between branches and use a variety of tools.

Responsibilities

• Assess proper mechanical operation of pools, equipment and facilities.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Complete repairs and projects in a timely manner.
• Oversee contractors when Director is unavailable.
• Maintain proper working order and inventory of repair items.
• Follow OSHA and industry safety guidelines.
• Communicate status of projects to supervisor and executives.
• Ensure equipment and vehicles are maintained per policies.
