Job summary

The Maryland Historical Trust (MHT) seeks a full-time Facilities Technician for Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum (JPPM). The role covers buildings, grounds, custodial work, and vehicle maintenance to ensure safe operations across a 560-acre site along the Patuxent River.

Typical duties include event support, equipment monitoring, and adherence to safety standards. Some evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required to support park activities and rentals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Three years of experience in building maintenance or construction trades, including supervision of others.
• Strong safety and preventive maintenance practices expected.

Responsibilities

• Maintains buildings, grounds, and custodial services for JPPM and related facilities.
• Inspects safety equipment and ensures proper operation.
• Maintains and schedules vehicle and equipment maintenance.
• Monitors and adjusts mechanical systems and BAS where applicable.
• Supports event setup, monitoring, and post-event cleanup; ensures compliance with rental agreements.
