Job summary

Lindop School District 92 is seeking a Maintenance Director to oversee the district's daily maintenance, life safety, and capital projects, ensuring health, safety, accessibility, and code compliance.

You will recruit and supervise custodial and maintenance staff, plan budgets with the CSBO, supervise facilities, coordinate with architects on life safety, and ensure timely completion of major repairs and preventive maintenance programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Five (5) years of experience in construction and/or maintenance.
• Certified Plant Servicing Training and Examination.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and building automation systems.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Illinois School Code and Life Safety requirements (ISBE/ROE compliance preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversees and manages the district's daily maintenance requirements.
• Recruit, interview, and supervise custodial and maintenance staff.
• Administer personnel policies and evaluate personnel.
• Plan and organize meetings with maintenance and custodial staff.
• Supervise the district's operation, buildings, and maintenance.
• Assist in preparing maintenance and custodial absence/time entry adjustments.
• Maintain work schedules for buildings and ensure supplies on hand.
• Prepare budgets and reports including costs of major work, materials, and labor.
• Establish and prioritize repair projects and life safety measures.
• Develop preventive maintenance programs and coordinate with architects on life safety.
