Job summary

Binghamton University seeks a Facility Operations Assistant to perform routine grounds maintenance, mowing, pruning, litter removal, snow and ice control, and related tasks across campus under supervision or independently. The role requires a valid NY driver license, the ability to obtain CDL-B with air brakes within six months, pesticide applicator certification, and proven experience with hand/power tools and heavy manual labor.

Shifts may include early mornings and emergency call-ins.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class B Driver's License with Air Brakes; CDL B within six months may be required.
• Pesticide Applicator’s Certification for Category 3A is preferred.
• Experience in grounds work and ability to perform heavy manual labor.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine grounds maintenance: sweeping, mowing, pruning, litter removal; care for trees/shrubs and plant beds.
• Assist with snow/ice control, salting, sand application, and winter duties as needed.
• Operate hand and power tools, basic equipment, and assist with repairs or setup of athletic fields and related areas.
