Job summary

The New York State Office of Mental Health is seeking a Facility Operations Assistant 1 to perform routine manual tasks maintaining grounds, walkways and the hospital garage. Tasks may involve medium to heavy physical effort including raking, sweeping, shoveling and debris removal.

You will operate equipment such as riding mowers, snow blowers, skid steers and plows as required. Qualifications include the ability to perform duties, communicate effectively, and hold a NYS driver’s license

Qualifications

• Must be physically able to perform the duties of the position.
• Ability to communicate effectively to obtain and convey information.
• Valid New York State driver’s license for vehicle operation.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine manual tasks to maintain grounds, walkways and garage areas.
• Operate equipment such as riding mowers, snow blowers, skid steers, plows, and related tools as needed.
• Assist with snow/ice removal and general upkeep to ensure safe, clean hospital surroundings.
