Job summary

City of Fargo is seeking a general maintenance worker to care for City buildings and grounds. Responsibilities include cleaning, equipment operation, and site upkeep, with safety and customer service in mind.

The role supports HHW activities, recycling sites, and occasional landscaping tasks across multiple City locations. A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED completed.
• One year of experience in building/cleaning maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to read work orders, instructions, and labels.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and inspect City buildings and grounds for safety and cleanliness.
• Operate riding and push mowers, weed trimmers, and related equipment.
• Drive light trucks and trailers to remote sites.
• Assist at Household Hazardous Waste Facility with unloading and sorting.
• Maintain recycling drop sites and perform routine cleaning and painting.
