Job summary

Forsyth County in Georgia is seeking a maintenance worker to support the Parks & Recreation Department. The role involves grounds and athletic field upkeep, custodial tasks, and general building maintenance, using a variety of tools and equipment.

Responsibilities include operating mowers and tractors, performing minor repairs, maintaining facilities, and coordinating with supervisors to ensure safety and readiness of athletic fields and parks.

Qualifications

• Two (2) months previous experience in grounds or athletic field maintenance or related work.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
• If assigned to Facilities Management, must pass a criminal justice background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance including grounds, athletic fields, custodial, and building upkeep.
• Operate a variety of machinery and tools for project work (tractors, mowers, leaf blowers, etc.).
• Maintain buildings and equipment; clean restrooms; inspect lights and scoreboards; perform minor repairs.
• Monitor inventory and requisition materials; ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Assist with park grounds maintenance such as mowing, edging, and field grooming; lay out and paint lines as needed.
• Prepare forms and reports; communicate with supervisor and other departments as required.
