Job summary

Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation Department is expanding its team and seeks a Maintenance & Operations Technician at Eastway Regional Recreation Center. This full-time role handles work orders, repairs, routine maintenance, and general facility support for events and programs.

The incumbent will rotate between day and evening shifts and may work every other Saturday, with responsibilities ranging from setting up events to grounds upkeep and light construction tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience related to facility maintenance
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License
• General knowledge of applicable computer programs

Responsibilities

• Perform setup, breakdown and cleaning during programs, rentals & events
• Provide customer service during programs, rentals, and facility operating hours
• Perform routine cleaning of restrooms and rental facilities
• Maintain interior and exterior grounds and future outdoor amenities
• Operate power mowers, chainsaws, brush cutter, edger and clippers, and light equipment
• Assist repair technicians in duties and other light construction tasks
• Layout measurements and assist in field maintenance of ballfields
