Job summary

Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation is expanding its team and recruiting a Maintenance & Operations Technician at Eastway Regional Recreation Center. This full‑time role handles work orders, routine repairs, and general facility maintenance, including event setup, grounds upkeep, and support across county facilities.

The position rotates between daytime and evening shifts, may include Saturdays, and requires at least 1 year of experience, a high school diploma, and a valid NC/SC driver’s

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience related to area of assignment.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Licenses/Certifications: Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License.
• Computer Skills: General knowledge of applicable computer programs.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Familiarity with maintenance, grounds keeping and construction tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform setup, breakdown and cleaning during programs, rentals & events.
• Provide customer service during programs, special events, and facility operating hours.
• Perform routine cleaning of restrooms, facilities and exterior areas.
• Operate light equipment and power tools used in maintenance and landscaping.
• Assist repair technicians and may lead small work crews.
