Job summary

HumanGood is seeking a Senior Director, Buildings & Grounds to provide enterprise leadership for facilities operations across its Life Plan Communities. The role sets strategy, standards, governance, and systems to maintain safe, reliable, and marketable community environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field and substantial experience in facilities management or multi-site operations.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive facilities leadership experience across multiple locations.
• Experience developing capital plans, managing major projects, and advising executives on facility risk and investments.
• Strong understanding of building operations, safety, regulatory compliance, and emergency preparedness.
• Ability to travel regularly across a portfolio and interact with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise Buildings & Grounds for Life Plan Communities with strategy, standards, and accountability across the portfolio.
• Direct and develop regional and corporate Buildings & Grounds leaders; set priorities and support operations.
• Oversee capital planning, facility-condition assessment, and major-project governance and reporting.
• Provide executive oversight of construction, renovations, and asset-replacement projects with budgets and schedules.
• Establish bid processes, contractor qualifications, documentation, and cost reporting in partnership with Finance and Legal.
• Lead Grand Rounds facility-review processes and portfolio-level analysis of recurring issues.
• Maintain CMMS, preventive maintenance, asset data, and executive-level facilities reporting.
• Identify systemic risks, aging infrastructure, and opportunities for enterprise improvement.
• Develop facilities standards, playbooks, and regulatory-ready procedures.
• Travel across Life Plan Community portfolio and provide after-hours executive support when needed.
