Job summary

The Toledo Zoo and Aquarium is seeking a Part-Time Facilities & Grounds Leader in Toledo, OH. You will supervise and train part-time staff, perform custodial and grounds maintenance, and ensure cleanliness and safety of all public spaces across the zoo grounds.

The role requires the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs, and maintain a high standard of oversight for a clean, welcoming guest experience.

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license and ability to be insured is preferred.
• Flexible schedule required, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing long periods.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Commitment to a clean and safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train part-time Facilities and Grounds employees.
• Maintain cleanliness, safe conditions, sanitation, and overall appearance of Zoo grounds.
• Ensure restrooms, walkways, seating areas and other public spaces are welcoming for guests.
• Report to Park Facilities & Grounds Manager and collaborate with the team.

Salary Range: $13.50 To $13.50 Hourly

This position will be responsible for the supervision and training of part-time Facilities and Grounds employees for the Toledo Zoo. In addition, they will provide the services necessary to maintain cleanliness, safe conditions, sanitation, and pick-up appearance of all Zoo grounds. This includes custodial and grounds maintenance, ensuring that restrooms, walkways, seating areas and other public spaces remain spotless and welcoming for our guests.

This role reports to the Park Facilities & Grounds Manager and is non-exempt, part- time under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Minimum Training & Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18+ years of age.
• A valid drivers’ license and the ability to be insured by the fleet insurance carrier is preferred.
• Flexible schedule is required, with the ability to work night and weekend hours, including some holidays.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Willingness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must understand the importance of a clean and safe working environment with a strong attention to detail.
