Job summary

Meridian Health Services seeks a Lead Facilities-Grounds Technician to maintain River Bend Hospital facilities in West Lafayette, IN. The role requires coordinating with the Facilities Director, scheduling work orders, and managing external contractors, while ensuring safety and quality across all site operations.

Responsibilities include training staff, maintaining records, responding to requests, grounds upkeep, and on-call emergency support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience within a behavioral health hospital setting preferred.
• Completion of formal technical training in a related field preferred.
• ASHE Certified Health Care Worker certification also preferred.
• Other certifications may include HVAC, EPA, ASE, CFC, CDL, I&C or other trade-specific licenses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and prioritize work orders, coordinating with Facilities Director and assisting with managing external contractors.
• Train other maintenance staff on systems, procedures and policies.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, safety inspections and equipment servicing.
• Respond to maintenance/custodial requests and complete remedial tasks efficiently and courteously.
• Grounds keeping and exterior maintenance to ensure neat facility appearance.
• Be on-call 24 hours per day for emergent maintenance needs when requested by Facilities Director.

Education

ASHE Certified Health Care Worker

HVAC certification

EPA certification

ASE certification

CDL license

I&C or other trade-specific licenses
