Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Custodian in La Crosse County to perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the organization’s buildings and grounds. The role includes daily cleaning tasks, supervising volunteers, and basic upkeep of facilities.

Education requires a High School diploma or equivalent and a Valid Driver’s License. Minimum one year of janitorial/maintenance experience is expected, with full-time hours and comprehensive benefits described in the posting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Minimum one year experience in janitorial and/or maintenance work.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum all carpets, clean and disinfect all restrooms daily, sweep and mop floors daily.
• Empty and discard waste daily.
• Replace paper towels, toilet paper and soap as required.
• Strip and wax floors as assigned.
• Clean various offices and rooms regularly.
• Supervise community service participants and volunteers.
• Upkeep of the grounds including mowing, raking, and litter removal.
• Check in janitorial supplies and verify invoices.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Corps Officer.
