Job summary

Lotusland in Montecito, CA, seeks a Facilities & Events Assistant to support maintenance, event setup, and garden tasks. The role covers preventive and corrective maintenance, setup/breakdown for meetings and events, and light garden support, with a focus on reliability, safety, and collaboration across facilities, garden, and events teams.

This full-time, non-exempt position works Tuesday–Saturday, 8:30 am–5:00 pm (flexibility required) with occasional Sundays/evenings.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift heavy objects repeatedly (50 lb minimum).
• Must have a valid California driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance of historic buildings and grounds.
• Maintain outdoor garden hardscape, walkways, ponds and pools.
• Set up and breakdown of tables, chairs and supplies for events.
• Provide labor support in the gardens and during events.
• Maintain detailed maintenance reports and records.
• Collaborate with Events staff on setup and support.
