Job summary

Virginia Peninsula Community College in Hampton, VA seeks a Facilities Operations Specialist to coordinate facility maintenance, setup, AV, and event support for internal college departments, Workforce programs and contracted events.

The role includes contract writing, negotiation, execution, and fulfillment of external facility usage agreements, plus collaboration with Plant Services, Campus Police, Marketing and IT to ensure timely delivery of meetings and events; evenings and weekend work

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of facilities and audio-visual technology.
• Knowledge and understanding of event setup and room layouts.
• General knowledge of contract creation, negotiation, execution, and compliance.
• Thorough knowledge of facility scheduling, event logistics, and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate facility maintenance and setup, audio-visual, special projects, and direct event support.
• Manage all aspects of customer service and sales of external facility usage agreements, including contract writing, negotiation, execution, and fulfillment.
• Work closely with internal and external customers to ensure meetings and events are delivered with professionalism.
• Collaborate with Plant Services, Campus Police, Marketing, and IT Services to address maintenance and event needs timely.
