Job summary

Pepco is seeking an experienced facilities technician in the Baltimore area to maintain complex building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and life-safety infrastructure. You will diagnose issues, plan contractor work, and implement preventive maintenance to ensure continuous operation.

The role requires EPA refrigerant handling certification, a high school diploma or higher, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Must understand and apply the National Electrical Code and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and building drawings and specifications.
  • Willingness to work overtime and be on-call as required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • English language proficiency is required.
  • Safety-sensitive role with potential DOT testing.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair and maintain complex building systems including electrical, mechanical and fire protection systems.
  • Plan and coordinate contractor work to meet specifications, schedules and safety standards.
  • Prepare labor and cost estimates for repairs and installations.
  • Develop preventive maintenance programs per manufacturer recommendations.
  • Ensure 100% availability of mission-critical facilities.
