Spectrolab, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company’s Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business unit, and the world’s leading merchant supplier of high efficiency multijunction solar cells for spacecraft power systems has an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Equipment Services Manager (Level K) to join our dynamic team in Sylmar, California.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing activities related to the design, test and integration of equipment
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Participates in equipment make/buy decisions; participates in source selection and provides technical oversight of suppliers
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position is for 1st shift.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • More than 3 years of experience in a leadership role (i.e., manager, project manager, team lead, etc.)
  • More than 3 years of experience leading teams in a formal and /or informal leadership role
  • More than 3 years of experience working in a cross functional environment and/or business unit teams
  • Experience with software coding practices
  • More than 3 years of experience with automation systems maintenance, robotics systems, and various types of equipment controllers, such as Siemens 840D, Fanuc, and Allen Bradley
  • More than 3 years of experience articulating and implementing strategy-to-action plans
  • More than 3 years of experience working with customer and supplier requirements to support program deliveries (e.g., planned versus unplanned demand, economic order quantity, resource planning, material type, manufacture or purchase, lead times)
  • More than 3 years of experience in Satellite or Space Programs
  • More than 3 years of experience with Supplier/Contracts/Program Management practices and processes
  • More than 3 years of experience in collecting and reporting schedule performance to a project/program schedule baseline

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.)

Relocation:

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $124,100 - $167,900
