Job summary

Bell Textron Inc. in Texas is seeking a Leader, Equipment Maintenance (Front Line Supervisor) to manage a team of maintenance technicians in our Facilities Equipment & Maintenance group.

You will supervise day-to-day maintenance activities, coordinate with planners, and ensure scheduled maintenance is completed on time at our Grand Prairie site. You will lead safety-focused, cost-aware initiatives and mentor technicians while aligning with production needs and quality goals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in industrial maintenance.
• Experience as maintenance supervisor or front-line leader.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Strong communication and independent work skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance activities with the Maintenance Planner and Scheduler to ensure on-time completion.
• Coordinate with production, quality, equipment, process, and industrial engineering to avoid production delays.
• Monitor work orders, parts orders and equipment performance data to identify trends and improvement areas.
• Identify and prioritize maintenance needs and help develop a maintenance budget.
• Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, providing training and support.
• Develop and maintain a safe working environment complying with OSHA and safety policies.
• Inspect and audit work in progress and upon completion, focusing on safety and quality.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability and reduce costs.

Facilities Equipment & Maintenance

Responsible for leading a team of union covered maintenance technicians in the day-to-day operations of an industrial maintenance department. This includes working closely with a Maintenance Planner and Scheduler to ensure that all maintenance activities, including preventative and predictive maintenance, are executed efficiently.

What you’ll be doing as a Leader, Equipment Maintenance (Front Line Supervisor):

• Work closely with the Maintenance Planner and Scheduler to supervise and execute all maintenance activities, ensuring that all equipment is in good working order and that scheduled maintenance is completed on time.
• Coordinate with other departments, including production, quality, equipment, process, and industrial engineering, to ensure that maintenance activities do not interfere with production schedules.
• Monitor and track maintenance activities, including work orders, parts orders, and equipment performance data, to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Identify and prioritize maintenance needs, and work with management to develop and implement a budget for maintenance activities.
• Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, providing training and support as needed to ensure that all team members are performing their duties effectively and efficiently.
• Develop and maintain a safe working environment by ensuring that all maintenance activities comply with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Inspect/audit work in progress and upon completion, focusing on safety and quality of work.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability, reduce maintenance costs, and increase overall efficiency

Skills You Bring to This Role:

• High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
• Proven experience as a maintenance supervisor or front-line leader in a manufacturing environment required.
• Strong understanding of industrial maintenance practices and procedures, including knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic systems.
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Working knowledge of MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
