Job summary

Morehouse School of Medicine campus in Atlanta seeks a facilities and engineering leader to oversee maintenance, grounds, safety programs, and budgets. You will manage staff, optimize service delivery, and maintain strong client relationships.

Job description

This position is based on the Atlanta, Georgia campus of Morehouse School of Medicine and is responsible for overseeing both maintenance and grounds operations in support of the institution’s academic, research, and healthcare mission.

The successful candidate will provide leadership for building maintenance, infrastructure reliability, landscaping, and campus appearance while ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

About the job

In this operational leadership role, you’ll oversee and optimize facilities and engineering services to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant performance across all systems and teams. You’ll manage everything from mechanical systems and maintenance workflows to budgeting, safety programs, and client relationships, all while developing staff and driving continuous improvement in service delivery.

Accountable for managing people, setting direction and deploying resources; typically is responsible for performance evaluation, pay reviews and hire/fire decisions. Results are primarily achieved through the work of others and typically depend on the manager's ability to influence and negotiate with parts of the organization. Progression within Career Band reflects acquisition of broad technical expertise, business and industry knowledge, and process and people leadership capabilities. Accountable for business, functional or operational areas, processes or programs, which may include dotted-line or matrixed management.

Pay Range: $86275 - $111650

• Hands-on knowledge of CMMS/work order systems and experience driving operational improvements through data and reporting.
• A proactive, safety-first mindset with the skillset to coordinate multiple projects while ensuring compliance and service excellence.
