Job summary

Fortinet, Inc. in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Facilities Engineering & Infrastructure Lead to oversee MEP-related capital improvements and infrastructure upgrades.

You will coordinate with Facilities, Engineering, Operations, and external contractors to ensure safe, efficient project delivery aligned with operational needs. The role emphasizes infrastructure delivery, contractor oversight, and technical coordination while supporting planning, budgeting, and execution of building systems

Qualifications

  • Experience in Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5–10+ years of experience in facilities engineering, MEP systems, construction coordination, or infrastructure delivery.
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
  • Experience managing contractors and technical vendors.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead MEP contractors for infrastructure upgrades, retrofits, and facility improvements.
  • Review drawings, scopes of work, and technical submittals to ensure alignment with operational standards.
  • Monitor contractor performance, schedules, safety compliance, and quality of work.
  • Conduct regular site walks to verify progress and installation quality.
  • Manage punch lists and ensure proper closeout documentation (O&Ms manuals, as-builts, warranties).
  • Plan and coordinate facility-related projects including HVAC upgrades, electrical improvements, plumbing modifications, life safety improvements, and system expansions.
  • Develop and track project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Identify risks, raise issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate outages and construction activities to minimize operational disruption.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the technical liaison between Facilities, Engineering, and Operations.
  • Support long-term capital planning for infrastructure systems.
  • Provide technical input for budgeting and forecasting.
  • Assist in evaluating system performance and recommending upgrades.
  • Support emergency response and critical infrastructure troubleshooting as needed.
  • Maintain project documentation, cost tracking, and status updates.
  • Provide regular updates to Facilities leadership.
  • Ensure accurate turnover documentation and system integration into facility maintenance programs.

Job description

The Facilities Engineering & Infrastructure Lead is responsible for overseeing MEP-related capital improvements, infrastructure upgrades, and technical facility projects across the portfolio. This role serves as the primary point of coordination between Facilities, Engineering, Operations, and external contractors to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with operational requirements.

This position focuses on infrastructure delivery, contractor oversight, and technical coordination while supporting the Facilities group with planning, budgeting, and execution of building systems initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
MEP & Contractor Oversight
  • Lead and coordinate MEP contractors for infrastructure upgrades, retrofits, and facility improvements.
  • Ability to travel inside the US is required on a as-needed basis by the project.Typical duration 2 days to 2 weeks or more if needed.
  • Review drawings, scopes of work, and technical submittals to ensure alignment with operational standards.
  • Monitor contractor performance, schedules, safety compliance, and quality of work.
  • Conduct regular site walks to verify progress and installation quality.
  • Manage punch lists and ensure proper closeout documentation (O&Ms manuals, as-builts, warranties).
Infrastructure & Facilities Project Execution

Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. Earnings for this position are expected to be $28 - $40 an hour. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program, Bonus eligibility is reviewed at time of hire and annually at the Company’s discretion
