Job summary

Rwdy-Inc is seeking a Facilities Engineer / Specialist II in Spring, TX to evaluate and guide discipline-engineering work, ensuring compliance with company specs, standards, and regulatory requirements.

You will serve as the Area Engineer for a plant operating area, collaborating with engineers, site staff and contractors, and supporting plant modifications, repairs, and shutdowns while meeting tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering specialty is required or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of engineering design standards, codes, and safety criteria.
• Experience with plant or facilities engineering and equipment reliability.
• Experience with pressure equipment, piping, static equipment, rotating equipment, tanks, repairs, alterations, or plant modifications.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Area Engineer for a specific plant operating area.
• Collaborate with Facilities Engineers, Site Contacts, Lead Engineers, Operations personnel, and contractors.
• Monitor area KPIs through monthly facilities surveillance.
• Provide engineering support for pressure equipment including piping, static equipment, rotating equipment, and tanks.
• Support plant modifications, repairs, and shutdowns.
• Evaluate engineering work for compliance with company specifications, engineering standards, applicable codes, safety criteria, and regulatory requirements.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week. Overtime is approved up to 45 hours per week; anything beyond 45 hours requires additional approval.

Allowances

• Per diem: $100/day, paid on travel days only
• Agency truck provided
• Travel must be booked through BCD and is 100% reimbursable

Scope

Evaluate and provide feedback on discipline-engineering work performed internally and by contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with company specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements. Facilitate the effective execution of engineering and design activities that align with team objectives and procedures. Ensure accurate and timely communication among the project team and other company functions regarding engineering activities, progress, and issues.

The Facilities Engineer / Specialist II will serve as the Area Engineer supporting a designated plant operating area. This position requires strong technical ability along with effective communication, facilitation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the Area Engineer for a specific plant operating area.
• Work with Facilities Engineers, Site Contacts, Lead Engineers, Operations personnel, and contractors to support the assigned area.
• Develop knowledge of and exposure to other areas of the plant.
• Conduct monthly facilities surveillance and monitor area-driven KPIs.
• Provide engineering and reliability support for plant pressure equipment, including piping, static equipment, rotating equipment, and tanks.
• Support plant modifications and changes.
• Provide engineering support for equipment repairs and alterations.
• Provide engineering support during plant shutdowns.
• Evaluate engineering work for compliance with company specifications, engineering standards, applicable codes, safety criteria, and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate engineering progress, issues, recommendations, and required actions effectively.
• Adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequently changing priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering specialty; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
• Strong knowledge of engineering design standards, specifications, codes, and applicable safety criteria.
• Plant or facilities engineering experience supporting operating equipment and equipment reliability.
• Experience with pressure equipment, piping, static equipment, rotating equipment, tanks, repairs, alterations, or plant modifications.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, operations, site personnel, and contractors.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English, particularly for technical and business communications.
