Job summary

OraSure Technologies Inc. is seeking a Senior Facilities Engineer in the United States to design, operate, and optimize HVAC and support systems serving cleanrooms and offices.

The role emphasizes GMP compliance, environmental control, and leading capital and maintenance projects. You will manage preventive maintenance, lead teams, and coordinate with production, quality, and engineering to ensure reliable facilities performance across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5–10+ years of facilities engineering experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, including HEPA filtration.
• Strong understanding of airflow, pressurization, and contamination control.
• Experience with BMS/EMS/CMMS/ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• Experience with commissioning and qualification processes.
• Project and contractor management.
• Leadership and team development.
• Experience in cleanroom environments (pharma, biotech, or medical device).
• Experience in regulated environments (GMP).

Responsibilities

• Lead operation, maintenance, and optimization of HVAC systems in cleanrooms.
• Maintain temperature, humidity, airflow, pressurization, and filtration control.
• Support HEPA certification activities across multiple facilities.
• Manage building systems through BMS/EMS platforms.
• Troubleshoot system issues and lead root-cause investigations.
• Own and manage the preventive maintenance program for critical systems.
• Develop lifecycle asset management strategies and predictive maintenance.
• Oversee daily building operations and maintenance of infrastructure.
• Lead facility and HVAC-related capital projects from planning through execution.
• Coordinate vendors and contractors while ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Lead and develop facilities and HVAC teams, establishing performance expectations.
• Monitor budgets, utility usage, and long-range space planning.
