Job summary

Kairos Power seeks a Facilities Engineer II to independently support and improve building systems across office, lab, R&D, and manufacturing environments. This role manages facilities projects, supports preventive maintenance, and ensures reliable day-to-day operations with cross‑functional collaboration.

The position requires hands‑on engineering judgment, willingness to lead root-cause problem solving, and readiness to coordinate with EHS, IT, Supply Chain, and Accounting.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities engineering or maintenance for HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Hands‑on troubleshooting of building systems is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with building automation systems (WebCTRL/BACnet) or willingness to learn.
• Familiarity with access control systems (Genetec) or willingness to learn.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Project and Visio preferred.
• Valid Class C driver’s license preferred for occasional driving.

Responsibilities

• Lead facilities improvement projects and support testing requirements.
• Manage preventive maintenance programs and schedule equipment maintenance.
• Monitor HVAC performance via BMS and coordinate repairs.
• Manage CMMS work orders, documentation, and service requests.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors on scope, safety, and timelines.
• Support audits and inspections with complete maintenance records and permits.
• Develop scopes of work and evaluate vendor proposals for trades.
• Oversee contractors on site and ensure safety compliance.
