Job summary

Fluidics, Inc. is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to operate, repair, and maintain building mechanical, electrical, and control systems at our Center City Philadelphia location. The role involves handling air handling units, pumps, heat exchangers, and related equipment, with occasional heavy lifting and exposure to extreme conditions.

Monday–Friday, on-site work. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience in central plant operations, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, plus trade

Qualifications

  • Trade certification in HVAC, Electrical, Hydraulics, or Plumbing.
  • Minimum five years experience operating central plant equipment, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and/or electronic systems.
  • Experience repairing building electrical, plumbing, and HVAC auxiliary systems.
  • Ability to safely secure hydronic and electrical systems for maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of fire-life safety and standby emergency generators.
  • Ability to wear respirator and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, replace, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, control systems, air handling units, pumps, and expansion joints.
  • Install electrical circuits and repair fixtures as needed.
  • Repair restroom fixtures and copper piping; thread black pipe.
  • Drain and lockout systems to facilitate repairs.
  • Perform minor carpentry, replace ceiling tiles, door hardware, and locks.
  • Perform minor electrical tasks including bulb and ballast replacement.
  • Clean coils in air handling units to maintain heat exchange efficiency.
  • Assemble, install, repair, and maintain chilled and hot water systems.
  • Inspect and operate emergency generators; manage related components.
  • Requisition materials for repairs and conduct preventive maintenance.
  • Record inspections and report to Supervisors; assist with other duties as required.
