Job summary

BioLegend, Inc. in San Diego seeks a hands-on Facilities Engineer to maintain and repair facility, laboratory, and automated order fulfillment equipment, with a strong emphasis on low voltage and machinery control systems.

Responsibilities include overseeing fire alarm and security systems, PV panels, EV charging, data cabling, and vendor coordination. You will monitor performance, ensure ISO/GMP compliance, manage spare parts, and provide on‑call support.

Qualifications

• High School Education.
• 8 years of closely related work experience including hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• 3 years of experience in control systems, fire safety systems, and low voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Hands-On Troubleshooting (Mechanical, Electrical, Controls): diagnose and resolve non-routine issues in automated order fulfillment systems, laboratory equipment, and facility infrastructure.
• Vendor Coordination: coordinate vendors for security, low voltage installations, security systems, EV charging, PV panels, and related repairs.
• Project Management: manage construction projects, admin or lab area buildouts, and Tenant Improvements as needed.
• Fire Safety: coordinate Fire Safety System maintenance (alarms, sprinklers, gas suppression, fire doors).
• System Performance Monitoring: track uptime and performance of critical technical systems.
• Quality Management System Compliance: ensure maintenance activities adhere to ISO, GMP, and internal protocols; document for audits.
