Job summary

Hard Rock Casino Rockford is seeking a maintenance professional to perform preventive and predictive work on HVAC-R, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems while supporting event setups and tear-downs as required. You will ensure safe and timely outcomes and maintain detailed logs.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, 3+ years in maintenance, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of maintenance experience.
• Must obtain and maintain licenses/certifications per Federal, State, and Illinois Gaming Commission.
• Must pass background check and be eighteen (18) years of age.
• Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on HVAC-R, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems.
• Set up and tear down events per diagrams.
• Oversee maintenance, upkeep and repairs of the facility and equipment.
• Document work orders and maintain technical logs daily.
• Adhere to Illinois Gaming Regulations and SOPs.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The incumbent in this position will perform preventive and predictive maintenance which may include HVAC-R, electronic systems, electrical, air, water and/or equipment. The incumbent is under the direction of the Manager- Facilities; the incumbent also responds to all General Maintenance service calls. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring events are set up per diagram.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Rockford their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service.
• Responsible for overall maintenance, upkeep and repairs of facility.
• Will climb extension ladders to 20+ feet.
• Perform minor repairs to plumbing, electrical, HVAC-R, and carpentry equipment and systems.
• Performs event setups and teardowns in a safe, timely manner. Moves furniture and equipment as directed. Supports other departmental events as directed.
• Installs and makes repairs to doors, furniture, office partitions, flooring and other related items.
• Preps and prepare drywall for painting. Paints and stains wall, furniture and other associated items.
• Creates service request for purposes of documenting work performed. Complete all work orders assigned in a timely manner.
• Document all work daily.
• Maintains technical logs and records all relevant data as appropriate.
• Performs all other duties as assigned and adheres to all Illinois Gaming Regulations and Departmental Standard Operating Procedures.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Attend seminars when needed.

EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

(Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis) This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of maintenance job experience.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):

• Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Illinois Gaming Commission.
• Must successfully pass background check.
• Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
• Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours.
• Drivers of company vehicles must have a valid driver's license and meet the requirements/standards listed on the Motor Vehicle Permit Application provided by Hard Rock.
• Prior experience opening new properties/outlets strongly preferred.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

• Machines and equipment including but not limited to; basic hand and power tools, spray equipment, etc.
• Safe use of hazardous materials.
• Must know how or be willing to receive training and certification to operate an aerial lift.
• Certification or apprenticeship completion in HVAC-R, electrical systems, plumbing, or carpentry preferred.

ABILITY TO:

• Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of employees and guests.
• Operate trucks and light motorized equipment.
• Follow oral and written directions.
• Must have exceptional guest service skills.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
