Overlake Medical Center and Clinics in Michigan is seeking a Facilities Engineer to maintain the hospital’s physical plant, ensuring patient and staff comfort and reliable operation of building systems. The role includes preventive and corrective maintenance across HVAC, power, boilers, vertical transportation, and fire protection.

Engineer II or III level positions require high school diploma, relevant licenses, and 2–5 years of healthcare maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Boiler Fireman Grade 4 License or Grade III Seattle Steam License required or must be obtained within one year of employment.
• Two years of experience in maintenance related functions required. Healthcare experience desired.
• Formal training on HVAC, electrical systems or other technical areas highly desired.
• Grade III Seattle Steam License required for Engineer III.
• Five years of maintenance related experience required. Healthcare experience preferred.
• Formal training on HVAC or electrical systems highly desired.

Responsabilités

• Troubleshoot and repair building systems including HVAC, emergency power, boiler plant, vertical transportation, pneumatics and fire protection.
• Perform daily rounds and cover weekend, day, evening, or night shifts as requested.
• Maintain clear records of work orders, spare parts, and related information for department operations.
• Safely operate power tools and hand tools appropriate to the role.
• Familiar with emergency plans and respond to utilities, fire and other incidents as needed.
