Job summary

Community College of Aurora seeks a full-time Electrical Trades I technician in the Facilities Department to maintain campus electrical systems, perform repairs, rewiring, and installations to ensure safe, reliable operation.

The position requires two years of electrical trades experience or completion of an electrician apprenticeship; a valid Colorado driver’s license and the ability to pass a background check are required; on-call duties and physical exertion are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in electrical trades in a facilities or maintenance setting.
• Completion of an electrician apprenticeship program or higher level coursework may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Must submit transcripts with the application and redact age-related information on the transcript.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe and efficient electrical systems across college campuses by inspecting, repairing, and replacing components as needed.
• Perform rewiring, install outlets, switches, lighting, and add circuits; troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment and lighting.
