Job summary

Community College of Aurora offers a full-time Electrical Trades I position within the Facilities Department. The role emphasizes maintaining electrical systems, HVAC/BAS management, and campus projects, with opportunities to perform preventative maintenance and cross-trade support.

Successful applicants will have 2+ years in electrical trades or an approved apprenticeship program, must submit transcripts, and be able to work a Tuesday–Saturday shift with on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience in electrical trades in a facilities or maintenance setting.
• Successful completion of an electrician apprenticeship program or higher level coursework may substitute for the experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe and efficient electrical systems across college campuses by inspecting, repairing, and replacing components.
• Perform rewiring, install outlets, switches, lighting, and add circuits.
• Troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment and lighting to ensure optimal functionality across buildings and grounds.
• Perform preventative maintenance on building facilities and general upkeep of walls, doors, and windows.
• Maintain HVAC and BAS management, monitor climate control and ensure safety and compliance.
• Order and pick up parts and materials using college vehicles and PCard, documenting purchases per rules.
• Assist with snow removal, event setups, and other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
