Job description

Our Opportunity Summary:

Our Facilities Engineering team designs, builds, and sustains the electrical infrastructure that keeps Micron's semiconductor manufacturing sites running safely and reliably. We partner with Facilities and Manufacturing teams through every phase, from design and construction to start-up, operations, and maintenance.

Position Overview:

As a Facilities Electrical Engineer, you will provide high-quality engineering services for planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of site electrical systems. These include low/medium voltage switchgear and distribution, power quality equipment, UPS systems, and generator systems. You will conduct capacity and scenario planning, evaluate the impact of changes, and ensure environmental, safety, regulatory, and code compliance. You will also help us bring AI and Agentic AI workflows into how we plan, design, and operate!

(Disclaimer) While you may not exhibit all of the characteristics/skills listed below today, we are highly interested in a team member who is anxious to grow in both technical breadth and depth. If you are open to learning from and being a valued member of a team of seasoned engineers, we are eager to help build on your existing foundation and expand your individual and collaborative skills in this exciting and unique opportunity.

What’s Encouraged Daily:
  • Design and specify low/medium voltage switchgear, power quality, UPS, and generator systems for safe operation and maintenance, aligned with all applicable standards, codes, and regulations
  • Develop and review equipment and component specifications, ensure material compatibility, recommend critical spare parts, and build or modify Standard Utility Details (SUDs)
  • Maintain capacity planning databases, track system capacity against measured and forecasted loads, and prepare periodic system status presentations
  • Support manufacturing scenario planning by evaluating system, distribution, and space planning impacts for future equipment
  • Prepare project scope, detailed designs, specifications, and cost and schedule estimates, while coordinating consultant resources and reviewing design packages
  • Provide engineering support during construction, inspections, start-up, and commissioning, and ensure drawings are updated per as‑built procedure
  • Support Operations, Maintenance, and Manufacturing through problem analysis, risk and failure mode analysis, elimination of single points of failure, excursion root cause work, and benchmarking of standard methodologies with other Micron sites
  • Follow all safety and environmental procedures, report EHSS concerns immediately, and proactively reduce safety hazards, injuries, and environmental releases
How To Qualify:
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Proven ability to make data‑driven decisions quickly, with data and logic to support them
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels (360°) and maintain strong customer relationships
What Sets You Apart:
  • Experience in data center, semiconductor, and large sub‑fab environments
  • Ability to use validated, innovative engineering and design technology and methods to deliver facilities systems efficiently and optimally
  • Ability to produce clear, professional design documents that enable efficient construction and start‑up
  • Ability to coordinate timely delivery and maintain organized storage and retrieval of design documentation, while meeting customer requirements and minimizing impact on current operations
  • Experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes

Our team vision is a continuing desire to develop your skills working in an inclusive, diverse environment of multicultural Teams across worldwide geographies! Enabling the creative career path you deserve with a collaborative environment and groundbreaking technology while rapidly growing your abilities.
