Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in Hampton, VA seeks a Facilities Electrical Engineer reporting to the Facility Engineering Team Leader. The role provides technical engineering services and project management to support production, maintenance, and administrative departments.

Responsibilities include leading electrical/controls projects, supporting PLC/HMI/robotics, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and coordinating from concept through startup and closure.

• Manage electrical and controls scope of projects including process improvement, capital expansion, and obsolescence mitigation.
• Coordinate all phases from concept, scope development, written specifications, bid solicitations, equipment and facilities engineering/design, manufacturing, and installation through final start-up, acceptance and project closure.
• Assist production and maintenance with equipment/process issues with emphasis on reliability and productivity through automation technologies.
• Provide PLC, HMI, and Robotic systems programming support for PLC/SCADA/Database Systems.
• Maintain accurate records for all automation programs and changes to these systems.
• Propose and execute improvements to existing automation systems and processes.
• Focus on safety of facilities equipment and processes including oversight of EHS policies.
• Oversee contractor work and compliance with company policies and Environmental, Health and Safety standards.

Job Summary

The Facilities Electrical Engineer will report directly to the Facility Engineering Team Leader. This position provides technical engineering services and project management to support production, maintenance, and administrative department's achievement of the location's business plan.

Responsibilities include

• Manage the electrical and controls scope of process improvement, capital expansion, and obsolescence mitigation projects.
• Coordinate all phases of assigned projects from concept, scope development, written specifications, bid solicitations, related bid meetings, equipment and facilities engineering/design, manufacturing, and installation through final start-up, acceptance and project closure.
• Assist production and maintenance with various types of equipment and process issues from an engineering perspective with key emphasis on maintaining and improving reliability and productivity of systems with specialized technical expertise in the application and use of automation technology for plant facilities and processes.
• Provide higher-level support for all PLC, HMI, and Robotic systems and programming for all PLC/Scada/Database Systems.
• Maintain accurate records for all automation programs and all changes to these systems.
• Propose and execute improvements to existing automation systems and processes.
• Focus on overall safety of facilities equipment and processes including responsibility and oversight of EHS policies.
• Oversee contractor work and compliance with Howmet Aerospace, Federal/State, Environmental, Health and Safety policies.

Salary

• Anticipated Pay Range: $90k - $100k per year #IND1
