Job summary

Novo Nordisk A/S in Clayton, NC offers a 10-week internship in the Black Utilities team to gain hands-on experience in daily operation, maintenance, and improvement of utility systems. You will work on a portfolio of projects, review maintenance plans, assist with mechanical design tasks, and learn across multiple engineering disciplines.

A strong Lean focus and practical problem solving will be emphasized throughout the program.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree. Engineering, life science, or related majors preferred.
• Must be a rising junior, or rising senior with a 3.0 GPA or above.
• Excellent computer skills to include: Proficiency in Excel, Word & familiarity/capability in most other Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of utility systems.
• Handle a manageable portfolio of projects to contribute to team efforts.
• Review maintenance plans, support mechanical design work, and assist with modifications to utility/electrical systems.
• Collaborate with team members across welding, machining, electrical, mechanical, and life safety disciplines.
• Gain exposure to Lean principles and tools used to support reliable utility operations.
