Job summary

Apple Rehab Middletown, a skilled nursing facility, seeks a Maintenance Director to oversee all building systems and grounds. You will supervise the Maintenance Assistant, coordinate external vendors, and ensure health, safety, and regulatory compliance across the campus.

You will maintain preventive maintenance schedules, manage fire/sprinkler/generator testing, and ensure operations stay within budget. This role requires leadership, attention to detail, and commitment to resident safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write in English; follow safety instructions and policies.
• Ability to perform routine plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry and grounds tasks.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items (50–75 pounds).

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, efficient, and effective operations of building systems.
• Supervise Maintenance Assistant; coordinate vendors and service/repair work.
• Advise on interruptions or shutdowns and ensure safety compliance.
• Maintain documentation for preventive maintenance, testing, and regulatory compliance.
• Plan work schedules for maintenance personnel and monitor budget adherence.
• Attend department head meetings and manage supplies to stay within budget.
