Job summary

The USS Midway Museum in San Diego, CA is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead maintenance and day-to-day facilities operations for a historic vessel and premier attraction. You will oversee ~40 maintenance and custodial staff, coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other departments, and ensure safe, clean, and reliable facilities for guests and staff.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of progressively responsible facilities/engineering experience.
• Experience leading and managing sizeable maintenance, facilities, or skilled-trades workforce.
• Strong knowledge of commercial facility systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
• Experience with budgets, vendors, and preventive maintenance programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise ~40 maintenance and custodial personnel responsible for facilities maintenance, equipment maintenance, custodial services, preservation, and related activities.
• Plan, assign, prioritize, and monitor daily work performed by staff, volunteers, vendors, and contractors.
• Oversee preventive maintenance and repairs of building systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
• Coordinate facility improvement and repair projects with contractors and departments.
