Job summary

Fairport Rehab & Nursing Center is seeking a Director of Environmental Services to lead building maintenance, safety, security, and environmental operations for a safe, comfortable environment for Residents.

The role requires supervising staff, managing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, safety systems, budgets, and regulatory records, with on-call coverage in a 24/7 care setting in Town of Perinton, NY.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of building maintenance or facilities management experience preferred.
• Supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of building systems, maintenance, carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, fire safety, and security.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
• Computer proficiency, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Environmental Services, maintenance, and facility operations.
• Supervise Environmental Services staff, including managers and maintenance personnel.
• Oversee building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and safety systems.
• Develop and maintain preventive and routine maintenance programs.
• Conduct facility inspections and ensure maintenance requests are completed and documented.
• Maintain regulatory records, safety documentation, policies, and compliance reports.
• Ensure compliance with fire safety, infection control, HIPAA, Resident rights, and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate staffing, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and employee relations with Human Resources.
• Manage departmental purchasing, inventory, payroll coordination, and operating/capital budgets.
• Coordinate contractors, vendors, and facility improvement projects.
• Oversee grounds, security, key control, and overall facility safety.
• Investigate incidents and complete required safety, quality improvement, and infection control reports.
• Collaborate with Residents, families, staff, contractors, and other departments.
• Participate in facility leadership, safety, and operations committees.
• Provide on-call support as part of a 24/7 care team.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
