Fairport Rehab & Nursing Center is seeking a Director of Environmental Services to lead building maintenance, safety, security, and environmental operations, ensuring our facility remains safe, compliant, and comfortable for Residents.
You will supervise staff, manage budgets, coordinate contractors, oversee building systems, and uphold HIPAA and infection control standards while collaborating with residents, families, and other departments.
Fairport Rehab & Nursing Center is seeking a Director of Environmental Services to lead building maintenance, safety, security, and environmental operations. This role ensures our facility, grounds, equipment, and systems remain safe, functional, sanitary, and compliant with regulatory requirements while supporting a comfortable environment for our Residents.
Lead and oversee Environmental Services, maintenance, and facility operations.
Supervise Environmental Services staff, including managers and maintenance personnel.
Oversee building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and safety systems.
Develop and maintain preventive and routine maintenance programs.
Conduct facility inspections and ensure maintenance requests are completed and documented.
Maintain regulatory records, safety documentation, policies, and compliance reports.
Ensure compliance with fire safety, infection control, HIPAA, Resident rights, and applicable regulations.
Coordinate staffing, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and employee relations with Human Resources.
Manage departmental purchasing, inventory, payroll coordination, and operating/capital budgets.
Coordinate contractors, vendors, and facility improvement projects.
Oversee grounds, security, key control, and overall facility safety.
Investigate incidents and complete required safety, quality improvement, and infection control reports.
Collaborate with Residents, families, staff, contractors, and other departments.
Participate in facility leadership, safety, and operations committees.
Provide on-call support as part of a 24/7 care team.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
3-5 years of building maintenance or facilities management experience preferred.
Supervisory or management experience preferred.
Knowledge of building systems, maintenance, carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, fire safety, and security.
Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
Computer proficiency, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

Pay: Salary $70,000-$80,000
Schedule: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week
Shift: Day shift with on-call responsibilities
Weekend Availability: Required
On-Call: Includes occasional evenings, weekends, and work outside normal business hours
This position includes both indoor and outdoor work and requires regular walking, standing, bending, climbing stairs/ladders, reaching, and lifting or moving equipment and materials. Occasional lifting of 51+ pounds may be required. The role may involve exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, fire, and infectious hazards and requires appropriate personal protective equipment.
