Job summary

TEAMWRKX Facilities (TXF) seeks an experienced Facilities Director to lead and expand the TXF division within the Bay Area, overseeing operations, maintenance, construction and renovation of client facilities.

The role includes full P&L ownership, client relationship management, and a mandate to grow a dedicated facilities management company with strong local subcontractor networks.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of facilities management experience, including leadership of a facilities group.
  • Minimum 5–7 years supervising project teams and supporting staff.
  • 5–7 years working on Bay Area facilities assignments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Thorough understanding of architectural, structural, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, fire life safety and fire protection systems.
  • Extensive estimating knowledge and experience.
  • Experience selling their own work.
  • Solid knowledge of facilities site work and contract terms; ability to read/write Subcontract Agreements.
  • Must have valid driver's license and OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven leadership and ability to communicate with Owners, subcontractors and management.
  • Knowledge of construction principles and ability to read plans and specifications.
  • Proficient with Procore, MS Project, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow a separate Facilities Management Company at TEAMWRKX; manage TXF assignments as growth occurs.
  • Develop business plans, sales strategies and growth plans; collaborate with TEAMWRKX senior management.
  • Lead operations, maintenance, construction and renovation of client facilities; manage internal and outsourced partners.
  • Own Full P&L responsibility for TXF including budgets, forecasts and financial reporting.
  • Oversee project management, budgets, supervision, training and continuous improvement.
  • Provide strategic leadership to TXF team, subcontractors, suppliers and vendors.
  • Build long-term relationships with Clients and become a trusted partner to their personnel.
  • Exercise independent judgment in day-to-day administration of projects.
  • Mentor and manage Project Managers, Assistant PMs, Project Engineers and Supervisors.
  • Available to work throughout the Bay Area; manage risk and report mitigation strategies to Senior Management.

TEAMWRKX Facilities (TXF) is looking for an experienced Facilities Director. Candidate should have a diversified portfolio of positions of increasing responsibilities in the Facilities’ field and have successfully managed and grown a Facilities division or organization. The successful candidate should have significant experience with facilities’ assignments specifically in the Bay Area, strong local Client relationships, and extensive local subcontractor, vendor and supplier relationships (candidates from outside Northern California will not be considered).

Responsibilities
  • Develop and grow a separate Facilities Management Company at TEAMWRKX. Candidate will be involved in directly managing TXF assignments as they grow and expand the Company, and as resources are brought on concurrent with revenue growth of the Company.
  • Responsible for the development of business plans, sales strategies, growth strategies, personnel utilization associated and will work closely with TEAMWRKX senior management in the review and implementation of same.
  • Lead all aspects of the operations, maintenance, construction and renovation of client facilities undertaken by TXF. Sources, plans, advises and manages/oversees maintenance of Clients’ facilities, offices and properties. Assignments typically involve renovations, maintenance and management of internal and outsourced partners to support workplace, life science labs and a variety of other organizational environments.
  • Full P&L responsibility for TXF including operating and project budgets, forecast and financial reporting, project financial performance, financial oversight of TXF team members, etc.
  • Accountable for project management, budgets, supervision, training and performance and continuous improvement.
  • Provide strategic leadership to the TXF team, subcontractors, suppliers and vendors.
  • Act as a subject matter specialist, become a trusted partner to Clients and their personnel; build long-term relationships with Clients; etc.
  • Exercise independent judgment related to day-to-day administration of projects.
  • Mentor / manage Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, Project Administrators and Facilities’ Superintendents.
  • Must be available to work throughout the Bay Area.
  • Manage risk on projects and report any risks and risk mitigation strategies to be implemented on projects to Senior Management.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of Facilities Management experience including at least 5-7 years as a Manager of a Facilities group or organization.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supervising Project Teams, including Superintendents and support staff
  • 5-7 years of experience working on Facilities’ assignments for firms located in the Bay area.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Thorough understanding of architectural, structural, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, fire life safety, and fire protection systems associated with construction activities.
  • Extensive estimating knowledge and experience.
  • Experience selling their own work.
  • Solid knowledge of Facilities’ site work and understanding of prime contract terms with the ability to read and write Subcontract Agreements
  • Must comply with the company policy of having a current valid driver’s license and OSHA 30 Certification
  • Excellent time management skills and detail oriented
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Ability to professionally communicate with Owners, sub-contractors, construction managers and act as a leader to the TEAMWRKX Facilities support staff.
  • Knowledge of construction principles, techniques, and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information in oral, written, and graphic form.
  • Demonstrated skills in organizing and evaluating information and in proactively finding solutions for construction projects.
  • Ability to read architectural plans and specifications.
  • Proficient with Procore, MS Project, and other MS Office applications.
