Job summary

Indiana Beverage in Valparaiso, IN is seeking a Custodial Specialist to join our facilities team on the second shift. The role focuses on cleaning and maintaining offices, restrooms, break rooms, lobbies, and other areas to keep a safe and welcoming workplace.

The position is full-time with a starting hourly wage between $24.00 and $27.00 depending on experience. The schedule runs Sunday 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM and Monday-Thursday 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, with minor training adjustments.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability and willingness to consistently work the schedule listed above.
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
• Takes pride in their work and ownership of assigned responsibilities.
• Able to work independently with limited supervision.
• Reliable, dependable, and maintains consistent attendance.
• Self-motivated and able to identify needs without waiting for direction.
• Comfortable interacting professionally with employees, visitors, vendors, and customers.
• Physically capable of performing custodial duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, climbing stairs, and being on their feet for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain offices, conference rooms, restrooms, break rooms, hallways, lobbies, and other facility areas.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, sanitize, and perform routine cleaning tasks.
• Empty trash and recycling, restock supplies, and maintain orderly work areas.
• Perform floor care, including scrubbing, buffing, and carpet spot treatment.
• Monitor custodial supplies and equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Assist with meeting and event setup/teardown as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and properly handle cleaning chemicals.
• Work independently to identify and address cleaning and facility needs.
