Job summary

Neighborhood House Association is seeking a dedicated Custodian to perform custodial and cleaning duties at Head Start sites and administrative offices; prepare rooms for meetings and support facility operations.

Under supervision, you will sweep, mop, dust, sanitize restrooms, set up conference rooms, and report any maintenance needs while maintaining safety standards and clean environments for children and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year custodial experience.
• Certification in Pediatric First Aid and CPR must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Must meet state and County licensing requirements for childcare centers (Fingerprints, TB, Physicals and Immunizations).

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops, scrubs and polishes floors and vacuums rugs.
• Dusts and polishes furniture; cleans restrooms and restock supplies.
• Cleans appliances, windows, walls and light fixtures; sets up conference rooms.
• Reports maintenance needs; follows safety practices and uses cleaning chemicals per label instructions.
• Operates vehicles to move supplies between sites; logs time and tasks performed.
