Job summary

Wesley Community Center in Houston is seeking a part-time Custodian/Maintenance Worker to handle building upkeep, vehicle care, and cleanup tasks across facilities including the Food Co-op. You will work with the Facilities Manager to maintain safety, perform routine and emergency maintenance, and support setup for meetings and events.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of related experience, reads blueprints, can lift up to 50 pounds, and uses hand and power tools safely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1–2 years of related experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and follow instructions.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and use safety equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings with daily walkthroughs and report needs.
• Perform routine and emergency electrical and plumbing tasks as needed.
• Clean and maintain facilities inside and out; arrange/move furniture.
• Maintain vehicle registrations and perform routine vehicle maintenance.
• Set up and tear down for meetings/events and manage trash/recycling.
