Job summary

MIT in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Custodian for the Department of Custodial Services to clean classrooms, laboratories, offices, restrooms and common areas, perform trash removal, restocking supplies, and maintain a safe, disinfected environment.

The role requires physical ability (lift 50 lbs, push/pull carts), compliance with PPE, and a high school diploma or equivalent; two years of experience preferred. A background check will be conducted for finalists.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and push/pull carts up to 100 lbs; stand/walk for majority of shift.
• Personal Protective Equipment must be worn as required by assignment.

Responsibilities

• Clean all assigned areas (classrooms, labs, offices, restrooms, lounges, hallways, etc.).
• Empty trash and recycling, restock supplies, and dispose of waste.
• Clean and disinfect surfaces, restrooms, and mirrors; maintain clean event spaces before/after events.
